Question: When I try to install the game, it locks up at about 80%. Is there a way I can play the game and not end up using the box as a paperweight?
Answer: Run the install off the first disk, let it tell you to insert the second CD, put the cd in and wait until you get your error.
At this point instead of cancelling the install, CTR+ALT+DELETE, and shut down the install program completely.
Now, take out the second CD and put it back in, the game should auto-run. If the game doesn't start, goto the folder you selected to install it and run Speed.exe.
MAKE SURE YOU HAVE CD #2 IN WHILE RUNNING THE GAME.

Question:Where can I download a patch for the game directly?
Answer: EA has a patching page that is accessible by a call from within the game. The page itself is not akin to being all that great looking and informative, but it serves its purpose. You can go to this link and run the scripts to update your game.

Answer: You will need to enable the following ports in order for the game to be successful in communicating with the outside world...
